Healing is the bridge between your past and your child's future.

Welcome

Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here.

If you are new to your gentle parenting journey then you are at the right place. I still remember what it was like to make the decision to parent differently but feel so lost. There’s a lot to learn, but don’t worry. You don’t have to learn it all right away. You can do what I did and just choose a couple of things to implement until you feel comfortable adding more.

Remember, this is a journey for you too. We can’t become better parents until we heal the wounded parts of ourselves. In addition to raising our children, we also need to raise the inner children within ourselves.

My Story

I’ve been a gentle parent for over four years now. I was originally an authoritarian or ‘traditional’ parent. I parented to gain control and when I didn’t have control of my child, I felt like a failure.

Every tantrum and meltdown left both my son and me crying. I hated how I felt after disciplining my child. I knew there had to be a better way. That’s when I discovered gentle parenting.

After years of research along with trial and error, I finally got to a place where I felt like I knew what I was doing as a parent. I no longer felt completely loss and had a toolbox full of parenting strategies to use during challenging moments with my child.

I decided I wanted to become a parenting coach so I could help other parents along the way. I received my certification from Jain Institute in the Spring of 2023. I now have the privilege of helping other parents on their road to healing and becoming gentle parents themselves.

My Experience

I’ve always had a passion for working with children. I was my neighborhood babysitter in high school, became a part-time nanny in college, and went to grad school to become a therapist for children. I received my Master’s in Mental Health Counseling, however, I didn’t realize how triggering it would be for me to work with children with very difficult upbringings. There was so much healing I didn’t realize I needed. I instead decided not to use my degree to pursue becoming a therapist.

My professional career includes mentoring college students, waitressing, serving as an operations manager for FedEx Express, and account management. It was not until 2022 when my professional path lead me to joining the Big Life Journal team as their Director of Content. Finally it felt like I was able to fulfill my calling of helping children. I may not have been able to work with kids directly, but now I can help them through their parents.

By educating parents I can directly impact how children are raised and treated in their homes. It fills my heart to see so many parents healing themselves and breaking so many generational cycles.
